Fan from the beginning. Your music is all. For the heart, for the soul. I really, really love it. Steve Rothery is one of the best guitar player of the world. And Steve Hoghart the best live singer.

In my opinion this is the most beautiful guitar solo of all times in all songs in all history of rock music. It burst me to tears every time I listen to it.

Little known fact but Mark (Marillion Automated Rock Keyboard -v10) is an android, programmed by the band and left on a battery charger every evening at Racket Studios. The original Mark Kelly was dissolved in acid in 1991 and replaced with an upgradable version. Ever noticed how 'he' doesn't age?

We had moved house. It was a bit of an uncertain period. Between jobs, freelancing. I drove back two hours to the old house to clean the place. 'Marbles' had arrived and filled the post box: perfect timing. I was to give back the key later. On the drive back across the hills I listened to the album on the car's CD player. It was quite a step forward from wonderful 'Anoraknophobia', into several different directions. Letting the group play the soundtrack to the next phase in my life. What an uplifting experience.

As a keys player this was absolute heaven! I'm still using hardware synths but many of the principles of splits, set lists, sound orders etc are the same! Very reassuring to see a pro like Mark grappling with the same issues. Great insights into the sampling etc, obviously a band like Marillion with such a layered sound were always going to utilise this - it's not 'cheating', it's simply using technology to create the fullest recreation possible.

I saw this at Bristol in I believe around March/April 1994 and I was not sure what was going on, now I recommend it to anyone who listens, and if they don't listen I send them the link anyway. for me the test of time has this over The Wall in terms of general societal concerns and the ability to raise them, which late's face it is what prog rock is supposed to do. Comfortably Numb is still best piece of music ever written though despite this album being close

You are making the impossible happen - after over 40 years of creating timeless and so emotional and moving music, your new music is even more incredible. Each of your albums is even better than the last one. I thought F.E.A.R. was your best album yet (sounds kinda cliché, I know). And then you gifted us with An Hour Before It's Dark. I wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Rothery: "I don't think there is another band in the world that would have made this kind of record..." (in this or other circumstances). You are one of the kind musicians and artists, and you are the only band that can make "sounds that can't be made." Thank You for all your creativity; please, don't stop.

I’d love to get a glimpse of Marillion in a band rehearsal, how they approach the live arrangements. Is it easy to find out which songs work in a live context or is it a question of trial and error? How are the light shows and the video projections designed - is this steered by the band, how do they decide which video artists to ask and so on. Perhaps that would be an entire own video: how the production for a new show starts and which stages it goes through…
